Fax blasts.

The fax is still a very widely used form of customer communication and with recent advances in technology you are now able to get inexpensive, even free, electronic fax services. Electronic fax allows you to send and receive faxes from your email account. This has provided the fax with a renewed burst of life. Fax machines never went away and are unlikely to do so in the near future, but electronic fax means you can now run fax blasts from any PC in your office as long as you have an Internet connection and an electronic fax service.

What is a fax blast?

A fax blast is exactly the same as a mail shot or a bulk email except it uses a fax machine. Paper print is much easier to read than electronic print and it has been proven that the human brain can read paper print 4 times quicker. Sending faxes will mean that a majority of people will receive your communication in printed format and will be able to easily divulge the information you put in front of them. A fax blast is a good alternative to other forms of advertising that you may want to consider for your business.

Less cost than a mail shot and quicker too.

To complete a mail shot you will have to pay for the paper, ink, envelopes and postage. With a fax blast none of these costs are necessary. Also, a mail shot takes time. Tying up at least one printer you will need to spend hours if not days to complete the printing of a mail shot, and then the letters need to be delivered. With a fax blast you need to compile the fax, import the list of fax numbers and names and then send.

No direct links.

The main disadvantage of a fax blast is the lack of links. You will need to be more persuasive with your sales copy than with an email because not only do you have to persuade a person to buy but you also need to persuade them to take the action of moving away from the fax machine and typing in a link on their PC. It may not sound much, but unless you can really make your product or service sound appealing or give your site a catchy URL that people won’t forget, you may not be able to get prospective customers to do it.

The fax blast is another good form of advertising and if you don’t have the time to do it yourself there are companies who offer to complete the service for only a few cents per delivered page. Most companies will not charge for faxes that fail delivery and if you order in bulk you should be given volume discount.
