Offline advertising

by Doctor Marshall

Offline advertising.

Just because you are setting up an Internet business does not mean that you have to concentrate solely on online activities. You should look into offline advertising as a means to promoting your company as well. Often offline advertising can be equally as effective as any bulk email or other online marketing campaign. Don’t forget that a person can read paper print writing three to four times quicker on average than reading on a screen. Your potential customers will be able to absorb more information and do so effectively.

How to advertise offline.

There are many different forms of offline advertising but to advertise your website using any of these methods one of the most important things is your domain name. You must remember that people are unlikely to be at their PC when they read a sign or a t-shirt that has your advert on it. If you have a long-winded and instantly forgettable domain name you are relying on people to consciously remember it or to write it down. Flyers delivered through a door are slightly different because these can be kept, but this means you have to have a product or service that people use on a daily basis. If your business offers something that is used only rarely (insurance quotes, perhaps) then you need to be able to use advertising that sticks in people’s memory.

Offline advertising doesn’t have to be expensive.

The cost of offline advertising ranges from cheap and cheerful to expensive and fully functional. It will all depend on your budget. One of the most effective ways to advertise your business offline is through networking. This means getting out and going to trade fairs or seminars. Talk to as many people as you can and answer any question that might get thrown at you. This will give you the opportunity to be seen as an expert in your field and allow you to hand out business cards, brochures and flyers to everyone you talk to. If you do this then you should give out two. One for the person you are talking to and one for family or friends that may be interested.
Offline advertising can be as effective as online advertising.
Offline advertising really can be as effective as online advertising, sometimes even more so. Local newspapers don’t charge much for a small advert in their paper and it may well bring you a good number of new customers. Getting brochures or flyers printed and paying someone to distribute them outside stores or through letterboxes can also pay dividends.
