Pay Per Click.

Once you have your Internet business up and running it’s time to attract customers and potential leads. Your website should be set up in such a way that it will do a lot of this work for you. The best type of leads you can get on the Internet are highly targeted, opt-in leads. This means that the visitor is pre-qualified as being interested in your product and they have opted in to see more information. The best way to achieve this is arguably through Search Engine Optimization (SEO). By getting your site to the top of search engine’s listings for your chosen keyword you will get free traffic to your site that have searched on terms related to your website. However, good SEO can take months, even years to have any considerable effect and in the mean time you need to find a viable solution.

What is a pay per click search engine?

Different companies have different forms of pay per click. A pay per click search engine allows users to bid on top placement for a particular keyword or search phrase. Whoever bids highest is displayed at the top of the list when a surfer searches by that keyword. The second highest bidder appears second and so on. You only pay when a surfer clicks the link that takes them to your site.

Google adwords attracts millions of viewers.

Google are the most widely used search engine in the world and getting to the top of their rankings is time consuming and usually costly. Once you’re there you have to redouble your efforts to remain there. One very effective way around this is to use Google adwords. You will have seen the adwords adverts yourself when you’ve used the Google search engine. They are the colored ads that appear at the top and on the right hand side of the search results and are always related to the term you searched for. Again, you can bid on these spaces and pay only when somebody clicks your link. By using Google adwords you not only feature on Google search results but also AOL, AskJeeves, Earthlink and more.

. Overture is a similar outfit to adwords but your adverts are the colored ads that appear at the top of Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, Hotbot, Lycos and more. These two networks account for over 90% of searches completed on the Internet. Overture is slightly cheaper than Google and this is quite simply because Google alone receives more than half of all search engine traffic.

Pay per click traffic is highly-targeted, opt in traffic. By combining Google and Overture pay per click campaigns you will be getting maximum exposure for your site. Smaller pay pr click search engines also exist and offer much lower bids but less exposure to the general surfing public.
