Using T-Shirts to Promote Your Business
by Doctor Marshall
T-Shirts.
Using offline advertising to promote your Internet business is an astute move that few websites consider. There are many different ways to advertise a business offline from the traditional signs and billboards to the slightly more unusual skywriting, car signs and t-shirts. Of course you can’t reasonably expect to have thousands of T-shirts printed and then just give them away but t-shirts really do have a place in offline advertising that you could be taking advantage of. You may be attending business seminars or similar functions yourself, and if you don’t feel the need for formal wear on some occasions then you can wear a company t-shirt. This will help form part of your branding and will mean that when people take an information pack or a brochure from you they will also remember your t-shirt and the advertising it was doing.
Company teams.
If you employ staff then you could give all staff members a company t-shirt. Of course, if your business is very specialist in nature then you may want to reconsider. Sporting events are always a good time to get staff wearing your t-shirts and most sporting events attract a couple of people to watch or play against. Enter large tournaments and you will have hundreds of people looking at your advertising. Perhaps offer a free meal in the middle of town on the condition that all attendees wear the company t-shirt. How many employees do you know who will turn down a free night out?
Make people remember.
If you employ people to hand out flyers on your behalf, whether at events or in town centers then you should give them a corporate t-shirt to wear. This combination of stimulus that you are pushing on people means they are much likely to remember your slogan and company.
Do it yourself.
Of course, you should always wear your t-shirt yourself and carry business cards with you when you do. If you use a good advertising slogan you may find people laughing or looking at your t-shirt presenting you with the perfect opportunity to hand them a couple of your business cards.
Family and friends.
If you have a particularly good slogan or logo then you may be able to persuade family and friends to wear them as well. It is unlikely that this will work if you simply have the name of your company and your URL emblazoned on the front but a good advertising t-shirt should have more than this. A little humor goes a long way in advertising and if you have a humorous logo on your corporate clothing you shouldn’t struggle finding people who are willing to wear your t-shirt for you.
