Telephone Advertising

Telephone Advertising.
Cold calling potential customers over the telephone is far from dead. Getting hold of phone numbers for potential customers is not that difficult, a quick search on the Internet or even through your local business directory will give you the names and phone numbers of many companies who may be interested in your services. Paying for a list will afford you greater advantages; you will usually be given the names and numbers of particular professionals within the organization you are trying to contact. This means you can speak to the head of purchasing or to the financial director depending on the product you are selling or be given details of individuals that meet certain demographical criteria.
On hold advertising.
There are alternative ways to use telephone advertising as well. Nobody likes to be put on hold but it has been proven that many people’s attitude will improve if hold music is played down the phone to them during this time. It may sound strange but the right music can actually subdue customers who are ringing to complain. You can place an advertisement for your latest product in the midst of this hold music. You are advertising to people who are already contacting your company and so you know they have at least a slight interest in the products you sell.
Hiring staff for telephone advertising.
Telephone advertising to clients may necessitate either employing a full time telephone sales person or outsourcing the project to a company or individual who will do this for you. Often you can attract candidates who will be willing to take part of their earnings as commission based fees payable for the contracts or sales they bring in. This means you only pay when you see results. You will need to give the person or company as much information as you can regarding your company, the way you do business and the products you sell. Without this information the calls they make will be very rigid and unlikely to yield the kind of results you want to see.
Telephone advertising stats.
The results of telephone advertising are very heavily dictated by the industry you work in, the advert you use and the products you sell. If you only ever receive customer phone calls to complain about faulty products or failed delivery then you are unlikely to ever make a sale through on hold advertising. If, however, you have a telephone ordering system where customers can order your goods or services by ringing your number then you may find that they will order extra thanks to your specific advertising.
